Preface :-

The geographical area of тАЛтАЛMira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation is 79.40 sq . km . m . It is . Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation is divided into 6 wards and the work of each ward is done under the ward office . Mira Bhayandar city is surrounded by sea on three sides and Sanjay 

Gandhi National Park is located on one side i.e. east . In order to quickly control natural or man - made disasters occurring in Mira - Bhayandar Municipal Corporation area , a main disaster control room has been created at the Kalpana Chawla Fire Station , Shri Maheshwari Bhavan and three shifts of clerks and soldiers have been appointed in this room . 

The complaints received from the citizens are reported to the concerned department and action is taken by them . As per the instructions given to the said employees , proper vigilance is taken through them .

The following functions are performed under the Disaster Management Act 2005 :

1) Providing comfort and facilities to the citizens during natural or man-made disasters in the city.  

2) To create awareness among citizens about safety in such disasters or emergencies.

3) Taking necessary measures in case of disaster or emergency in the city.

4) Prepare a disaster management action plan and take action accordingly.

5) Hon . Performing duties as directed by the Commissioner.

6) Accepting complaints from citizens regarding disasters and taking action in this regard by the concerned department.

7 ) To supervise and control the actions and activities of the employees as per the orders of the Hon'ble Commissioner.

8 ) Implementation of government decisions , circulars , and orders .

9 ) Organizing training for officers and employees.

10) Providing assistance, shelter, food, or rehabilitation to the affected.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:-

To carry out work as per the directions and instructions of the Hon'ble Commissioner . Also to take action under the Disaster Management Act 2005. Similarly to implement the orders received from the Government .

To control the disasters occurring in Mira Bhayandar city , a main disaster control room has been created at the Kalpana Chawla Fire Station , Shri Maheshwari Bhavan and clerks and soldiers have been appointed in three shifts in the said room . Through these employees , the complaints of the citizens are recorded during natural or man - made disasters occurring in the city and accordingly informed to the concerned department . And action is taken accordingly through the concerned department .            

Supervise and control the actions and activities of the employees assigned to the main disaster control area . Organize and guide the citizens to be vigilant in disaster or emergency situations by creating public awareness about safety . Prepare a disaster management action plan and take action accordingly .
