Citizens Declaration
The daily and regular needs of citizens are greater in metropolitan areas than in other regions. These needs are often urgent and of high priority. Therefore, it becomes the responsibility of the municipal administration to address these needs effectively, efficiently, in a planned manner, and without delay. A simple, straightforward yet decisive and effective approach should be adopted to resolve citizens' issues within a reasonable time. For this, the municipal administration must work within the framework of the Maharashtra Municipalities' core rules, bylaws, and the guidelines issued by the government from time to time. Once the administration takes on the responsibility of working in this manner, there may be some initial challenges for the administrators. However, once the process is streamlined, citizens' work will be completed swiftly. This will lead to the municipal corporation gaining respect and admiration from the citizens, and this will be the outcome of the public statement made by the citizens. For this purpose, a clear structure should be developed at the municipal level for all the duties of the municipality, which are expected from local self-government institutions. This structure should include all important aspects from the citizens' perspective. However, the way of working here should not be more complicated, time-consuming, or discouraging compared to other municipal corporations. To ensure citizens' convenience and efficiency, a public statement has been made for the citizens to ensure their tasks are handled promptly.
